Christmas Ornaments

Christmas Ornament Order

A lady I work with ordered another ornament.
She wanted something for her sister so I am hoping she likes this.  She asked for the word "SISTER & 2012" on it.  I chose the double heart as a symbol of their friendship.  Hope she likes it

Christmas Ornaments

I was making some ornaments with the Grinch on them and a friend asked if I could make her some with her Grandchildren's names on them and the year.  To me they looked a little plain so I added the stocking/snowflake to them.
This one (bottom) is just the back of the same ornaments.

Glass Block Etching & Decorating

I etched some snowflakes on this glass block.  The snowflakes are from the cartridge Winter Lace
The Etch cream says to leave it on for a few min, but I left this on for at least an hour to have the desired look.  All different sizes of snowflakes can be used.  First off you cut vinyl to fit the block and then use your machine to cut out the snowflakes.  Then place your vinyl onto the glass block laying it flat on it.  Start filling in all the snowflakes with etch cream.
Once you have left the cream on and it has worked its magic (take care not to get on your skin) you need to rinse it off well with warm water.
I then put a set of blue lights in the block and put some ribbon around it and tied the bow on the top.  The Cord for the lights comes out on the side of the block

Hope you enjoyed this.  It really does look beautiful all lit up.
I am sure the recipient will enjoy it

I have to say it has been a long hard couple of weeks.  November 8/12 was supposed to be a good day.  It was my mom's 66th birthday.  She had finally joined the 66'er Club along with 2 of her Best Friends.  I must say though her birthday was not spent the way we normally would have spent it: sitting in the hospital IMCU waiting to hear the news I will forever dread hearing or the way we would have like to have spent it..  Things weren't looking good and she was not expected to make a recovery.  We were asked to give 48 hrs for treatment to let her show us what she was able to do.  My sister and brother were called in.  After a long drive with a 2 month old little guy, not knowing if they would make it in time, my sister and her family got here.
We all have known my Mom's wishes since we were little and talked about it.  Nov 10/12 is a day that a community of family and friends will never forget.
After all has been said and done, thank yous need to go out to many people.  She has 3 BFF's that I feel deserve a little bit more than just a Thank You card.  The one BF she has known for at least 37/38 yrs and every January 25 Mom would make a birthday cake and take it to her house.  Every Nov 8th, this BF would get a cake and bring it to Mom's house.  This year was no different as just as I was heading out to the hospital she was pulling in with the cake.   No phone calls required.  It started out as an after supper thing but since they became neighbours a few yrs back it was an earlier in the day party.  The other 2 BFF's made up 2/3rds of the 66'er Club and have been friends for 57yrs.  WOW!! that goes back to when they were only 9 yrs old they met.  I sure hope I have some friends like that.  I can think of a couple.
I decided to make these charms to attach to their thank you cards as a very special thank you memory to cherish for them for always being there for her and us right to the end, doing the little things that were needed.

Pat's card (above)
Cora's Card (above)
Once again Cora, Evelyn & Pat, I cannot say THANKS enough to you 3 wonderful BFF's.
I love you all......Tammy.
Not only do I but all of us do.
I know these 3 Special Women will cherish these forever. My mom could not have ever had better BEST FRIENDS FOREVER!!

Advent Calendar

Bright Ideas
Somehow I thought making an advent calendar would be easy...
Well it started with a whol lot of pieces as shown above and below

Then came to putting all the little shelf like boxes in for the treats to sit upon inside.  These right now are glued to the front of it.

This is now waiting to be filled with all the little goodies.
I was surprised how easy it was to put together, with just making sure that the doors don't get glued shut.  Also another little tip is that the sides don't need any fancy little paper for them as the ribbon covers it anyhow
These are the papers I used for the sides of it.  Aren't they sweet....well they are covered now by the is where the file for this can be found

Latest DT Project

Santa Box
I made this Santa box as my latest project for Creative Kuts2 DT.

Here is a straight on view of the box. I used a DecoArt Glistening Snow Writer
on the fur of the hat and the pompoms. I used Liquid Appliqué on the beard, moustache
and his eyebrows so they have some dimension added to them. I just used a little bit of ribbon
to tie it at the top of the box.
Please don't hesitate to stop by the store and browse their many files they have.
New files being added regularly.
all files only $3.00 and come in a variety of cutting formats
I got my Liquid Appliqué from CTMH.  It is available thru my link

Another Little Christmas Present for "My New Love"

I did this "Floating Frame" Picture for Tyson for Christmas
The colours of cardstock I used are the colours that are used in his bedroom.
I held it against the wall in there and it looks great, colours almost matching perfectly.
I used the cartridge Nate's ABC for the boy, wagon, dogs, and the grass.  Winnie the Pooh font was used for the his name.

Tyson`s Book

Here is a picture of my new love "TYSON"
He was born on Aug.  18/2012.
Here is the baby book I have made for him.

I finished this page and the Dad & Me page

I finished the book off with this page which was also

Halloween Pull out Cards

I have done my DT project with these
3 cards which can be found at
This was the first time I have done a pull out card.
It was a little bit of a challenge to do until I asked a question and then it was easy for me.
I enjoyed doing them as they were an easy project if you didn’t have a lot of time.
These will be attached to some treats for some special kids who I give treats to each yr.

When I first got my file I cut out the pieces to the way I figured they went
but once I had a picture of them I found that I was wrong on my guessing of pieces.
This card is a view of them open.
When you pull the piece at the top it lifts the little piece and reveals the sentiment I have placed inside

Don't forget to stop by www.creativekuts2 and browse all the great files there,

Brother In Law's Birthday Gift

Happy 40th Birthday is once again going to be happening this year in early December.  My brother in law is the lucky one.  I decided I couldn't very well do another 3d "40" as I am just giving my sister a set in late October.  As she says "I am not quite 6 wks older than Mark".  No Dawn you are correct, you are 1 day short of 6  I know we are suppose to exchange gifts but really we arent, I am just giving you 2 a couple of gifts.
I decided to do this gift for him. "It's 5 o'clock Somewhere" inspired by the one a dear friend made  (Wanda from  )   and also the one made by Amy McCabe on blog.
Here is the box top done up.  It is approx. 9 1/2" x 9 1/2".
I used different types of paper, brads, twine, some ribbon and lots of adhesive.

The bottom of the box has 2 curio boxes in it, a 3d number "5",
and fits some small bottles and also some shot glasses.
I am hoping he really likes this.

I have a new nephew who is almost 2 months old.
I made this little onesie for him.  I know he is going to love it.  I used Easyweed Heat Transfer Vinyl for this project.
I made it in 12 month size hoping he will get to wear it some.
NEXT is Christmas Ornament

I used some floor wax for a adhesive and made sure it covered all over inside
and then drained any excess out.
I then poured some glitter in and shook it all about til it was all covered
and could not see any light and then poured all excess glitter out.

I then cut some vinyl and made the picture shown above and also put Tyson's inital on the opposite side as shown above.

Here is the finished ornament with Baby's First Christmas wrote on it even.
I have to thank a friend (Kristine from down under) for helping me make the pattern right for the onesie.  Not only thanks for this pattern but for many patterns I have already gotten from her and I am sure many more that I may  Thanks so much Kristine P.

DT Project

Here is my next project for Creative Kuts2 Design Team
It is the OWL CARD.
I used cardstock, inks, and brads all from CTMH,
gel pens in my chomas holder to do all the writing
Here is another look
Here is another view

The envelope has an owl cut out on the flap with a insert
in it so you see some coloured paper.

The owl that was cut out of the flap on the envelope was placed on the back of the envelope.
